The challenge
Bouldering is a fast-growing sport and Bristol is a competitive city for it. The site launched with no Google footprint — no rankings, no Maps presence — while climbers were already searching for “bouldering near me” and finding someone else.
What we did
1. Built the foundation
We designed and built the website around how people actually search for bouldering — sessions, beginners, kids, technique, community and parties — each on its own optimised page, with a Google Business Profile set up and tuned to match.
2. Rapidly earned the top spots
We targeted the high-intent local terms first and moved the site onto page one and into the top positions, organic and Maps.
3. Defended the top — then widened the net
We held those positions month after month while widening the keyword net (technique, beginners, kids, “what is bouldering”), and we maintain the site — security, updates, performance.
The results
Flashpoint Bristol now ranks #1 on Google for the core bouldering terms in the city and sits in the top of the Map Pack alongside them.
